Neuendettelsau was mentioned for the first time in 1216. It goes back to a water castle. Today the family lives of the barons of Eyb at the castle.

Neuendettelsau (New Dettel's mead 'Dettel' = a creek) received its first historical mention in the 1216th It dates back to a moated castle, and between 1300 and 1500 was owned by the Nobles von Vestenberg and von Seckendorff. It was then acquired by Sebastian von Eyb early in the 16 th century. The Descendants of the Barons von Eyb live in the Castle to this day.
